2021 Chevrolet Avalanche News, Pictures, Specs, and Price. It is hard to believe, but the 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche could finally come back. This truck was in production for two generations, but it never reached the popularity of its siblings, Chevy Colorado and Chevy Silverado. After seven years, it will be available again. Well, previous buyers remember the Chevy Avalanche as the versatile and reliable pickup. It had no GMC twin, like Colorado and Silverado.
Rumors about a return are here for a while. No official source confirmed these stories. Now, the situation is somehow more interesting. After few years of disappointment and delays, fans would forget the Avalanche. That is not happening. In the matter of fact, the interest is even higher. Having this in mind, the GM plans to re-launch this model as 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche.
2021 Chevrolet Avalanche Diesel
Well, if the 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche goes into the heavy-duty segment, then it will definitely get a diesel drivetrain. Otherwise, the half-ton or a mid-size pickup is hard to happen. Whatsoever, Ford could add diesel for Ranger, while F-150 is getting it in 2023. The new generation of Silverado 1500 will use a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel unit with 250 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. The new 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche diesel would come with a smaller displacement. A 2.8-liter Duramax is going to be a move that will offer more options to buyers.
The last edition of the Avalanche truck used a 5.3-liter petrol engine. This one is still part of the lineup for Silverado pickup and some SUVs. The new 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche could use a 4.3-liter block, that is left out of the Silverado’s lineup for next generation.
This V6 engine is good for 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. A Flex-Fuel EcoTec3 powertrain will also return high mileage. On the other hand, it is not so capable of towing. Maximum capacity of this engine is 7,600 pounds. It is mated to a six-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
What Would 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche Look Like?
The 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche could keep some cues from its predecessors. Seven years is a long period of time. If we take a look at any other model, we will see all of them are totally different. The new 2021 Chevy Avalanche will keep some of its recognizable details.
The pickup had a sporty design with a lot of interesting and unique details. The highlight was definitely an adjustable bed. The Black Diamond Avalanche could come back. This was the special edition for its final year in production. Back then, different badging and unique features made it more attractive. Now, this version should be a high-end model of this nameplate.
The cabin of the truck was its major downside. Of all, the quality of the materials was not so fine. Owners of Chevy trucks used to much higher level. Interior layout was awkward, although it was comfortable and there was room for six passengers. Now, the 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche must not repeat the same mistakes. Cloth or even leather could be standard. The GM won’t go so far by adding a navigation. Avalanche truck is getting power-adjustable seats, standard in all Chevy pickups.
2021 Chevrolet Avalanche Heavy-Duty Truck
Chevrolet and General Motors are bringing back the chassis cab pickup trucks for 2023. Already next year, or in the following season, its entry-level Silverado 4500 HD could change its name into Kodiak. The same is possible with Silverado 2500. Avalanche used to be available in two types. Standard Avalanche 1500 was a half-ton truck. Its bigger version came as Avalanche 2500 3/4- ton pickup. Since there is no need for another truck, we don’t know where the new one could be slotted. Smaller than Colorado, or between it and Silverado 1500 does not guarantee success. Special performance-oriented models are there as ZR2 trims. Rebadging of the Silverado 2500 could be a reasonable option.
2021 Chevrolet Avalanche Hybrid
Ram 1500 enters the 2023 season with a mild-hybrid drivetrain. This truck is a first of a kind to use such power source. Whatsoever, it is a mild version that doesn’t change horsepower or torque outputs. Even the mileage is not getting a huge boost, but only 1 mpg for both city and highway drive. More serious pickup is announced– the Ford F-150. GM’s archrivals are again a step ahead of the competition. The 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche Hybrid could be a response. Instead of developing Silverado 1500 with such drivetrain, Chevrolet will use the new name for this truck.
2021 Chevrolet Avalanche Release Date, Price, Future
The arrival of the 2021 Chevrolet Avalanche is not official. Rumors are louder than ever, so we could see at least the concept next year. Well, it will happen late, since the GM is presenting new heavy-duty models in the first half. Whatsoever, we will be glad to see it back and what kind of options it can bring. The release will definitely show us something more about 2021 Chevy Avalanche– first of all, where it will belong. Its position will form the price since there are a lot of rumors about diesel, hybrid, and other engines.
